LocosCocos Marisqueria

Seasonal Dishes - Locally Sustained - Traditional Family Recipes

Join us for lunch and sunset dinners steps from the surf at our open air eatery, LocosCocos Marisqueria, a “seafoodies” delight. Enjoy catch of the day gourmet goodness served in a charming, rustic setting under the cool shade of palm trees! We serve traditional, seasonal dishes that are locally sustained.

Jumbo Shrimp, Calamar, Octopus, Blood Clams, Lobster, Yellowtail Snapper, Dorado, Mussells and more are brought to us daily from local fisherman we know personally; our freezers are full of french fries not fish. Dishes are prepared with Henner’s grandmothers family recipes used in her famous beachfront marisqueria while he was growing up in Boca Baranca, Puntarenas in the 1950’s and 60’s. Simple, fresh and using only natural ingredients from the sea and farmers market, we also aim to reduce our our waste and recycling.

Boogey Boards, Batchi Ball, Horseshoes, hammocks, and excellent beach combing to the local estuary and the caves make this a perfect place to spend the day in paradise! Surf lessons, yoga and horseback tours are arranged with advance planning. LocosCocos Marisqueria is truly a “toes in the sand”, no shoes required, old-school Costa Rican beach eatery!

All dishes are prepared to order and we recommend that groups call ahead for reservations. LocosMarisqueria accepts all major credit cards and guests at Cristal Azul are allowed to run “tabs” that are settled the day prior to your scheduled check-out.

“Best. Beach. Bar. And that’s saying something in Costa Rica. On an amazing, nearly deserted stretch of beach, Henner serves up his secret-family-recipe Ceviche out of an old shipping container. Ice cold beers cap off this near-perfect experience. Also, if you time it right, you might get to see an amazing show in the sky (aka sunset).”
