The west coast of Costa Rica is home to some of the best world class sport fishing. Volcanic activity one million years ago created a coastline of underwater crevices and reefs that have become the home and feeding grounds to some of the most sought after catches of die hard anglers. Whether you are looking for the big game adventure of hooking a billfish or marlin, or prefer the fight of a feisty roosterfish, there is always a catch waiting for you here.

We fish the waters off Cabo Blanco north to Playa Guinoes. This strip of coast boasts over a dozen IGFA world records and is one of the best areas in the country for year round catches. Here you will find Pargo, Dorado, Snook, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, Blue and Black Marlin, and Roosterfish. As a general rule, December thru May is the prime season for most species and it is claimed that in January this is best area in the world to land a marlin. If river fishing interests you, the nearby Rio Bongo is an anglers dream.

The Apipucos, our 28ft. center console boat, is equipped with twin Johnson 250’s and state of the art electronics to get you to the fish, safely. All tackle and equipment are top of the line and we use only Penn International & Shimano rods and reels. Coolers onboard are packed with fresh fruit, an ample supply of juice, soft drinks, water, the coldest beer, and sandwiches for lunch are made from fresh bread and top quality cold cuts.

Your captain, Henner, a professional guide and captain in Costa Rica for over 15 years, has had a passion for this sport since he was a young child growing up in the port town of Puntareanas. As a native of Costa Rica, he has fished with some of the top charters in this country for most of his career, earning him a reputation as one of the best.
