We were told of this place by a close friend.  They said, “expect to come here and do nothing.”  Kirk & I are usually very active people and figured we would arrive and then do a lot of walking, kayaking etc.  In fact, our friends were right.  Cristal Azul is one of the most beautiful and relaxing places we have ever seen.  We did nothing but enjoy the view and ambiance.  In fact, we stayed an additional few nights!  We will definitely be back!

I went to Cristal Azul with my boyfriend for 4 days and it felt like we spent a week there! Zene and Henner are the most gracious hosts and knowledgeable about the area. We even got to go fishing - what a captain Henner is! If you are thinking of going to Costa Rica - STAY AT CRISTAL AZUL! The cabanas are wonderfully outfitted, and the property is gorgeous! The pool is a dream, and the beach is right there if that is your thing. The most relaxing vacation I have ever had!

What a place! Set on a hill, you will love swimming in the pool while taking in the fantastic views. The rooms are lovely and private. Zene and Henner are the best hosts and welcome you with open arms. Go fishing, too! It gives you a great view of the countryside!

May 2009, we went down to Costa Rica for a wedding that the entire entourage followed down to the SaN Miguel beach for 3 days.
  Most of the kids stayed at a local hotel down by the water while the bride and groom and family stayed at a friend’s home right on the beach.  However, a few of us had the greates experience of all staying up on the hill overlooking the entire San Miguel coastline at Cristal Azul. 
When we met up with the rest of the party and boasted about Cristal Azul and how wonderful it was to be up on the hill with a bar, the infinity pool, a pool table and fabulous cooking, they all had to take turns coming up to see themselves. 
It was unanimous – we had the best place to stay!  We were hosted by the owners, Henner and Zene, who kept everything alive and were more accommodating that your own mother.  Our stay was that of peace and tranquility all nesteld in the middle of nature , the rainforest and overlooking the coastline.  You couldn’t ask for more!
