By Plane:
Once you have arrived in San Jose, we are easy to access by small commuter plane. The two Costa Rican airlines, Sansa and Nature Air, have regularly scheduled flights to the Islita airstrip. The flight is approximately 45 minutes followed by a 12km drive to San Miguel. As you fly over the incredible landscape of Costa Rica, it's diversity and beauty can truly be appreciated.

We can handle all of your in-country flight reservations and ticketing as well as your transfers between Islita and Cristal Azul.

By Car:
If you prefer to drive from San Jose, or anywhere else in the country, we can provide you with detailed instructions to our doorstep, along with tips on good resting points and interesting diversions off the beaten path.

The trip from San Jose usually takes half a day and includes a scenic one and a half hour ferry ride across the Golfito de Nicoya. Although, delays are common on the roads, driving is a fantastic way to absorb the Costa Rican culture and way of life. Passing thru the small towns of this country and coming in contact with the locals is an experience not soon forgotten.

Car Rentals:
Whatever your travel plans, we can arrange a car rental prior to your arrival. It is possible to have an agent with a car meet you in San Jose, or here at Cristal Azul for an additional delivery and pick up fee. 4WD is required to reach us.
